The early evolution of the H-free process

چکیده
The H-free process, for some fixed graph H , is the random graph process defined by starting with an empty graph on n vertices and then adding edges one at a time, chosen uniformly at random subject to the constraint that no H subgraph is formed. Let G be the random maximal H-free graph obtained at the end of the process. When H is strictly 2-balanced, we show that for some c > 0, with high probability as n → ∞, the minimum degree in G is at least cnHH(log n)H. This gives new lower bounds for the Turán numbers of certain bipartite graphs, such as the complete bipartite graphs Kr,r with r ≥ 5. When H is a complete graph Ks with s ≥ 5 we show that for some C > 0, with high probability the independence number of G is at most Cn(logn)H. This gives new lower bounds for Ramsey numbers R(s, t) for fixed s ≥ 5 and t large. We also obtain new bounds for the independence number of G for other graphs H , including the case when H is a cycle. Our proofs use the differential equations method for random graph processes to analyse the evolution of the process, and give further information about the structure of the graphs obtained, including asymptotic formulae for a broad class of subgraph extension variables.

The Effect of Cold Rolling Process on the Microstructure and Texture Evolution in a 1 wt. % Si Non-oriented Electrical Steel
In this study, the effect of cold rolling process on the microstructure and texture evolution in 1wt. % Si non-oriented electrical steel was investigated. For this purpose, all samples were processed through single-stage hot rolling at 1100 ° C and two-stage cold rolling (cross rolling and unidirectional rolling) with intermediate annealing at 650 °C for 35 seconds. Finally, all of them were fu...

Nanocomposite of titanium diboride/titanium carbide was fabricated by combustion synthesis of mechanically milled reactant powders. The stoichiometric mixture of Ti and B4C as starting materials milled for 1, 3, 6 and 9 h. Milled powders pressed to form pellets then green compacts were placed in a tube furnace that preheated to 1100 oC in inert atmosphere (Ar).The samples were investigated by X...
متن کاملComparison of the Salivary Immu-noglobulin Concentration Levels between Children with Early Childhood Caries and Caries-Free Children
Background: Early Childhood Caries (ECC) is one of the most common chronic child-hood diseases. In spite of the global decrease in dental caries in the past decades, ECC has become a significant problem in many developing countries and also in a few indus-trialized nations. Saliva as a host factor can play an important role in the process of den-tal caries. Objective: The aim of this study was ...
متن کاملA Review of Mitochondrial Biogenesis and Cellular Response
Abstract Background and Objectives Mitochondrial biogenesis is a complex process involving the coordinated expression of mitochondrial and nuclear genes, the import of the products of the latter into the organelle and turnover of this process. Mitochondrial malfunction or defects in any of the many pathways involved in mitochondrial biogenesis can lead to degenerative diseases and possibly pla...
متن کاملQuantitative analysis, basin evolution and paleoecology of Early Miocene ostracods in the southwest of Kerman, Iran
This paper focuses on the quantitative analyses of Early Miocene ostracods in south and north of the Sirjan area, southwest of Kerman. Detailed studies resulted in identification of 23 species of ostracoda. The coexisting benthic foraminifera and comparing the identified microfauna assemblages with previous studies confirms the Early Miocene age for the strata. The quantitative analysis show a ...
